Club Championship requires a Race Worker Volunteer

Pre-registered full day workers get free pit pass.

Racers and All others are required to pay for pit pass

In order for racers to qualify for season ending championship awards and race entry discounts, a racer must supply a worker to help with each race event.  That worker may be needed for an hour or two, or maybe a whole day.  Areas needing help are prerace setup, Race logistics, Scales, Scoring, Registration, Safety inspection, Parking, Transponder tracking and Garage assignments. Please indicate your preference on this form and follow-up with the name of the volunteer if you have one at this time.  This year we are pleased to offer members a $5 race entry discount in addition to web news, membership card, and newsletters for your mailbox, so it imperative you signup before the season starts.

Continue reading »]]> Michigan Kart Club is excited to present their 2012 schedule. MKC is one of the few original karting road racing clubs in the country, dating back to the late 1960′s. For 2012 we will be heading once again to the twisty road course of Waterford Hills in Waterford Michigan on May 26-27th. We utilize a “hybrid type” of race schedule that get’s everyone on the track, pretty much regardless of who the racer is (Sprint or Enduro) and the type of class they run. The track is a pure driver’s course so come on out and test your skills!!!

The latest announcement we have is we will be returning to the historic Michigan International Speedway on September 29-30th in the rolling Irish Hills of Brooklyn Michigan!! MKC has been long established with MIS dating all the was back to the early 1970′s when we hosted the IKF Grand Nationals! This is our first return since the mid 1990′s when the track was included on the very successful Mid-States Enduro Series! The GREAT NEWS is that MIS is a state of the art racing facility with world class accommodations AND has been completely REPAVED/ASPHALTED/REPLACED and completely RESURFACED as well as adding new track options for MKC use!!! Now you can run the OVAL and ROAD COURSE all the NASCAR and INDY stars use every year!!

Continue reading »]]> For those that are looking for information on the boarder crossing to attend the Point Pelee event I will help as much as possible. There is a lot of information on the internet regarding requirements. Basically, anyone 16 and older needs a passport or enhanced drivers license. Under the age of 16 a birth certificate will work as long as accompanied by a parent. Entry into Canada is easy. They will simply ask you where you are going, how long you are staying and do you have anything to declare. Entry back into the US is similar except they will typically want to take a look in the trailer. If you are pulling a trailer, it is a good idea to have your license plate number for your tow vehicle written down so you can tell them what it says. The cameras cant see the plate with a trailer attached. Also, an inventory list of what you are bringing in can be helpful if the ask. Just something simple like (2 karts, 2 engines, 1 toolbox, misc tools, etc.). Otherwise, simply answer their questions and the crossing will go smoothly.
